Game 1: Zac Delong Drives In Five As Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity Defeats Western Texas College

Zac Delong showed timely hitting on Saturday, driving in five on three hits to lead Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity past Western Texas College 13-3 on Saturday.  Delong drove in runs on a single in the first and a home run in the third.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the third inning.  Ethan Rodriguez, Delong, Justin SantosRece Parker, and Rodriguez each drove in runs during the inning.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Delongsingled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity tallied eight runs in the third inning.  Rodriguez, Delong, Santos, Parker, and Rodriguez all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Justin Karbowaski led things off on the mound for Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity. He surrendered three runs on three hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one.

#9 started the game for Western Texas College. He allowed five hits and six runs over two innings, striking out one.  #12 and #20 entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Delong went for the long ball in the third inning.

Game 2: Early Lead For Western Texas College Seals Fate For Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-6 loss to Western Texas College on Saturday. Western Texas College scored on a grand slam by #32and a double by #8 in the second inning.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity lost despite out-hitting Western Texas College nine to eight.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning.  Marco Barreradoubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

#30 got the start for Western Texas College. He allowed six hits and four runs over four innings, striking out four.

Will Hahnfeld was on the hill for Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity. He surrendered six runs on four hits over two innings, striking out two.  Trevor Gattin threw five innings out of the bullpen.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity socked one home run on the day. Justin Santos went yard in the second inning.
