Game 1: Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity Claims Blow Out Win Over Luna Community College Thanks To Fifth Inning Boost

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity put up four runs in the fifth on its way to a 7-1 victory over Luna Community College on Friday.  Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity offense in the inning was led by Noah AndersonJhonmy Martinez, and Cade Hamilton, all driving in runs in the frame.

Luna Community College fired up the offense in the first inning, when #12 hit a solo homer.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity scored four runs in the fifth inning.  Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Anderson, Martinez, and Hamilton, who all drove in runs.

Justin Karbowaski got the start for Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity. He allowed three hits and one run over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.

#5 was on the pitcher's mound for Luna Community College. He went five innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking one.  #4 threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity hit one home run on the day. Anderson had a dinger in the fifth inning.

Ethan Rodriguez, Anderson, Brooks BetcherSeth Bowman, Marco Barrera, Hamilton, and Rece Parker each collected one hit to lead Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity.

#12 went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Luna Community College in hits. 

 

Game 2: Despite Strong Fight, Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity Can't Top Luna Community College

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity fought back after falling down by four runs in the fifth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 9-8 defeat to Luna Community College on Friday.  Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Noah Anderson in the fifth and a home run by Anderson in the seventh.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity was right in it until Luna Community College singled in the fifth inning.

Luna Community College opened up scoring in the first inning.  #12 homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity notched four runs in the fourth inning.  Reece BurkeCade Hamilton, and Rece Parker each drove in runs during the inning.

#27 was on the hill for Luna Community College. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out six.

Landon Cody led things off on the hill for Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out four and walking zero.  Will Hahnfeldand Lane Pirkle entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Anderson went deep in the seventh inning. Marco Barrera put one out in the first inning.

Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity racked up seven hits in the game.  Barrera and Andersoneach had multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity.  Anderson and Barrera each collected two hits to lead Vernon College Chaparrals Varsity.

Luna Community College tallied 12 hits on the day.  #9, #12, #2, and #3 each racked up multiple hits for Luna Community College.
