VERNON, TX. - GM1: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Overcomes Wayland Baptist University JV In Face Of Early 6-Run Inning

Vernon College Chaps Varsity managed through a push by Wayland Baptist University JV in the fourth inning where Vernon College Chaps Varsity coughed up six runs, but Vernon College Chaps Varsity still won 11-7 on Monday. Wayland Baptist University JV offense in the inning was led by #40 and #16, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Bats blistered as Vernon College Chaps Varsity collected ten hits and Wayland Baptist University JV tallied ten in the high-scoring game.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity got things started in the first inning.  Luke Piper doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity put up three runs in the second inning.  Brendon Concannonhad an RBI home run in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Joismer Gonzalez was on the mound for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righty went four innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking one.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity collected ten hits.  Piper and Cade Hamilton each racked up multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Piper went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity in hits.

Wayland Baptist University JV tallied ten hits.  #29, #22, and #16 each had multiple hits for Wayland Baptist University JV.

 

GM2: Piper's Walk-Off Gives Vernon College Chaps Varsity Victory Over Wayland Baptist University JV

Vernon College Chaps Varsity took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 6-3 walk-off victory over Wayland Baptist University JV. The game was tied at three with Vernon College Chaps Varsity batting in the bottom of the seventh when Luke Piper homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.

In the first inning, Vernon College Chaps Varsity got their offense started when Piper singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Maverick Folmar was on the hill for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righty allowed two hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five.

#28 started the game for Wayland Baptist University JV. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out two.  #43 threw three innings out of the bullpen.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Piper went yard in the seventh inning.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity had nine hits in the game.  Jadon Fratus and Piper each racked up multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Piper and Fratus each collected two hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

#3 led Wayland Baptist University JV with two hits in two at bats.
