VERNON, TX. - Vernon College Chaps Varsity Can't Catch Up To Crowder College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-4 loss to Crowder College on Wednesday. Crowder College took the lead on a double in the first inning.

Crowder College fired up the offense in the first inning. Crowder College scored two runs when #2 doubled.

#34 got the start for Crowder College. The bulldog lasted four and a third innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Clark Candiotti led things off on the hill for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righthander lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out six and walking one. Justin Karbowski threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game.  Luke Piper, Brendon Concannon, and Jhonmy Martinez each collected multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Piper went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsityin hits.

Crowder College totaled 13 hits.  #15, #8, #2, and #14 each had multiple hits for Crowder College.  #15 led Crowder College with four hits in five at bats.
