GM1: Rose State College Captures Lead Early To Defeat Vernon College Chaps Varsity

Vernon College Chaps Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-7 loss to Rose State College on Saturday. Rose State College scored on a single by #33, an error, and a home run by #14 in the first inning.

Despite the loss, Vernon College Chaps Varsity did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Rose State College had nine hits on the way to victory.

In the first inning, Rose State College got their offense started when #33 singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity scored four runs in the fifth inning.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity's big bats in the inning were led by doubles by Zak Betancourt and Hunter Leonardand a groundout by Jared Baehr.

#34 led things off on the mound for Rose State College. The ace lasted four innings, allowing zero hits and two runs while striking out three.

Colten Panaranto led things off on the hill for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righthander allowed six hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out five.  Will Hahnfeld threw two innings in relief.

Luke PiperJhonmy Martinez, Baehr, Leonard, Betancourt, Cade Hamilton, and Rece Parkereach collected one hit to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

Rose State College tallied nine hits on the day.  #33 and #26 each had multiple hits for Rose State College.

GM 2: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Clinches Lead In Eighth Inning For Victory Over Rose State College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity defeated Rose State College 11-5 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with Vernon College Chaps Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Zak Betancourt hit a solo homer.

Rose State College scored four runs in the eighth inning, but Vernon College Chaps Varsitystill managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Rose State College came thanks to by #33 and #7, a walk by #17, and a single by #1.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity got things started in the second inning when Jared Baehr hit a solo homer.

Rose State College evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning.  #24 drove in one when #24 doubled.

Sutten Tidwell led things off on the hill for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The pitcher went six innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out nine and walking one.

#22 toed the rubber for Rose State College. The bulldog allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking one.  #27, #20, and #25 each contributed in relief for Rose State College.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity launched three home runs on the day. Baehr had a homer in the second inning. Betancourt went yard in the eighth inning. Logan Williams went deep in the eighth inning.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity racked up 15 hits in the game.  Baehr, Jhonmy MartinezLuke Piper, Betancourt, and Williams each collected multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Betancourt, Piper, Martinez, and Baehr all had three hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

#24 went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Rose State College in hits. Rose State College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. #11 had the most chances in the field with nine.
