Vernon College Chaps Clinches Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Carl Albert State College

VERNON, TX - Vernon College Chaps Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 6-3 victory over Carl Albert State College on Friday. The game was tied at three with Vernon College Chaps Varsity batting in the bottom of the eighth when Zak Betancourt doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Clark Candiotti was on the mound for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righthander went six innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out eight and walking one.

#8 was on the hill for Carl Albert State College. undefined allowed eight hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four.  #14 and #25 entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
