GM1: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Falls To Grayson College Despite Collecting More Hits

Even though Vernon College Chaps Varsity collected seven hits to Grayson College's three, they still fell 4-3 on Wednesday

#5 led things off on the pitcher's mound for Grayson College. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four.

Clark Candiotti started the game for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The pitcher surrendered four runs on three hits over six innings, striking out eight.

Jhonmy Martinez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity in hits.

 

GM2: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Can't Catch Up To Grayson College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-2 loss to Grayson College on Wednesday. Grayson College took the lead on a double in the first inning.

The Vernon College Chaps Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Grayson College, giving up ten runs.

Grayson College opened up scoring in the first inning, when #7 doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Grayson College scored four runs in the sixth inning.  #1, #26, and #17 all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

#4 toed the rubber for Grayson College. The ace allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three.

Will Hahnfeld started the game for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The southpaw went five innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out five.  Justin Karbowski and Nicholas Wilson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity collected eight hits on the day.  Noah Anderson and Luke Piper each racked up multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Piper and Andersoneach collected two hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

Grayson College scattered nine hits in the game.  #9, #30, and #1 all collected multiple hits for Grayson College.  #9 led Grayson College with three hits in four at bats. Grayson College was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. #34 made the most plays with eight.
