GM1: Late Score Costs Vernon College Chaps Varsity Against Ranger College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity stayed in it until the end, but Ranger College pulled away late in a 13-6 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at five with Ranger College batting in the top of the fifth when #35 singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity collected eight hits and Ranger College had ten in the high-scoring affair.

After Ranger College scored one run in the top of the sixth, Vernon College Chaps Varsityanswered with one of their own. Ranger College scored when #22 drew a walk, scoring one run.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity then answered when Jhonmy Martinez grounded out, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity notched five runs in the fourth inning.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity's offense in the inning came from a sac fly by Rece Parker, a home run by Reece Burke, and a double by Cade Hamilton.

#30 led things off on the hill for Ranger College. The pitcher lasted five and a third innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while striking out six.

Clark Candiotti was on the mound for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. Candiotti lasted four innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out four.  Ryan GalvanFoster Kreuzer, and Joismer Gonzalez each contributed in relief for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity tallied eight hits in the game.  Brendon Concannon, Burke, and Marco Barrera all had multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Concannon led Vernon College Chaps Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

Ranger College racked up ten hits on the day.  #14, #19, and #43 all managed multiple hits for Ranger College.  #14 went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Ranger College in hits.

 

GM2: High Scoring Game Leaves Vernon College Chaps Varsity Overtaken By Ranger College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity fell 12-6 to Ranger College on Wednesday despite out-hitting them nine to four.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity fired up the offense in the second inning.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity scored one run when Rece Parker singled.

Ranger College pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #4drew a walk, scoring one run and #44 grounded out, scoring two runs.

Ranger College scored five runs in the sixth inning. Ranger College's big inning was driven by home runs by #22 and #6.

#1 led things off on the pitcher's mound for Ranger College. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out six.

Will Hahnfeld started the game for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. Hahnfeld allowed three hits and five runs over five and a third innings, striking out 11.  Justin KarbowskiJaden FowlerMaverick Folmar, and Trevor Gattin each entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings, one and one-third innings, two-thirds of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.
