GM1: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Takes Victory Over Ranger College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity wins contest against Ranger College on Saturday, 5-3

Ranger College fired up the offense in the first inning, when #43 grounded out, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Jhonmy Martinez singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Noah Anderson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity scored three runs in the sixth inning.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity's offense in the inning came from doubles by Jaquavius Davis and Rece Parker.

Colten Panaranto got the start for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righthander went five and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out seven.

#27 was on the hill for Ranger College. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking one.  #10 and #15 entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four and a third innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity totaled eight hits.  Parker and Martinez each managed multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Martinez and Parker each collected two hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Martinez had the most chances in the field with ten.

Ranger College saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game.  #12 and #24 all had multiple hits for Ranger College. Ranger College was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. #35 made the most plays with nine.

 

GM2: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Claims Lead In Ninth Inning To Defeat Ranger College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 2-1 victory over Ranger College on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Vernon College Chaps Varsity batting in the top of the ninth when Zak Betancourt hit a solo homer.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Sutten Tidwell struck out 13, while Ranger College pitchers sat down 12.

In the top of the sixth inning, Vernon College Chaps Varsity tied things up at one when Jared Baehr doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Tidwell got the start for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The lefthander lasted nine innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out 13.

#17 was on the pitcher's mound for Ranger College. The bulldog surrendered one run on seven hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking one.  #34 and #18entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one and one-third innings respectively.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Betancourt had a homer in the ninth inning.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity scattered nine hits in the game.  Marco Barrera and Jaquavius Davis all managed multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Davis and Barrera all had two hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Baehr had the most chances in the field with 13.

Ranger College tallied seven hits on the day.  #44 and #14 each had multiple hits for Ranger College. Ranger College didn't commit a single error in the field. #44 had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.
