GM1: In Walk-Off, Vernon College Chaps Varsity Loses To Hill College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity fell to Hill College 10-9 on Wednesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at nine with Hill College batting in the bottom of the eighth when #43 hit a solo homer.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity collected 12 hits and Hill College had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

In the first inning, Hill College got their offense started when #9 homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Hill College tied things up at nine. Hill College scored two runs when #18 homered.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity notched four runs in the third inning.  Brendon ConcannonJhonmy Martinez, and Marco Barrera each had RBIs in the big inning.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity hit five home runs on the day. Concannon went deep in the third inning. Barrera put one out in the third inning. Hunter Leonard had a homer in the second inning. Jaquavius Davis had a dinger in the second inning. Martinez put one out in the third inning.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity totaled 12 hits in the game.  Reece BurkeCade Hamilton, Leonard, and Concannon each had multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. Concannon, Leonard, Hamilton, and Burke each collected two hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Martinez had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Hill College saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game.  #6, #43, and #18 each racked up multiple hits for Hill College. Hill College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. #9 had the most chances in the field with nine.

 

G2: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Struggles To Find Groove Against Hill College

Nothing came easy for Vernon College Chaps Varsity on Wednesday, as they fell 11-3 to Hill College

Hill College got things started in the first inning. An error scored one run for Hill College.

Hill College pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third #18 homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs and #6 doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Hill College scored five runs in the sixth inning.  #18, #9,  #43, and #24 all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

#1 got the start for Hill College. undefined allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out ten.

Justin Karbowski started the game for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righthander surrendered six runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out three.  Maverick Folmarthrew one inning out of the bullpen.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity socked one home run on the day. Jhonmy Martinez went deep in the third inning.

Jaquavius Davis went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity in hits.
