Baseball can't get back in the win column at Hill

GM1: Hill College Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Vernon College Chaps Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 5-0 loss to Hill College on Saturday. Hill College scored on a single by #43 and a double by #27 in the second inning.

In the second inning, Hill College got their offense started when #43 singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Vernon College Chaps Varsity was a single by Jhonmy Martinez in the first inning.

#19 was on the pitcher's mound for Hill College. The hurler went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one.

Colten Panaranto started the game for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. Panaranto went six innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out seven.  Ryan Galvan threw one inning in relief.

Zak Betancourt, Hunter LeonardReece Burke, and Martinez each managed one hit to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

Hill College didn't commit a single error in the field. #8 had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

 

GM2: Early Lead For Hill College Seals Fate For Vernon College Chaps Varsity

Vernon College Chaps Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-3 loss to Hill College on Saturday. Hill College took the lead on a walk in the second inning.

Hill College fired up the offense in the second inning. An error scored one run for Hill College.

#33 was on the pitcher's mound for Hill College. The ace surrendered three runs on six hits over nine innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Sutten Tidwell was on the mound for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The southpaw went six innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out four.  Jaden Fowler and Sergio Gallardo entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity launched one home run on the day. Jared Baehr went yard in the eighth inning.

Reece Burke went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity in hits.

Hill College totaled ten hits in the game.  #8, #21, and #22 each collected multiple hits for Hill College. Hill College didn't commit a single error in the field. #8 had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
