GM1: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Can't Catch Up To McLennan Community College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-1 loss to McLennan Community College on Wednesday. McLennan Community College took the lead on a groundout in the second inning.

The Vernon College Chaps Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing McLennan Community College, giving up nine runs.

In the second inning, McLennan Community College got their offense started.  #16 grounded out, scoring one run.

McLennan Community College scored five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by McLennan Community College was led by #5, #3,  #16, and #13, who all drove in runs.

#34 got the start for McLennan Community College. The hurler went six innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out 15 and walking one.

Will Hahnfeld started the game for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The lefthander surrendered four runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three.  Ryan Galvan and Sergio Gallardo entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one and one-third innings respectively.

McLennan Community College smacked two home runs on the day. #13 had a long ball in the third inning. #14 had a four bagger in the third inning.

Marco Barrera led Vernon College Chaps Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

McLennan Community College tallied 13 hits on the day.  #13, #4, #3, and #30 each had multiple hits for McLennan Community College.  #13 went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead McLennan Community College in hits. McLennan Community College didn't commit a single error in the field. #13 had 18 chances in the field, the most on the team.

 

GM2: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Fall Short To McLennan Community College, 6-2

McLennan Community College scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for McLennan Community College came thanks to a home run by #48 and a double by #27.

#36 toed the rubber for McLennan Community College. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out ten and walking one.

Justin Karbowski was on the hill for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The pitcher went six innings, allowing six runs on 12 hits, striking out two and walking zero.  Joismer Gonzalezand Foster Kreuzer entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

McLennan Community College mashed three home runs on the day. #13 had a homer in the fourth inning. #48 put one out in the fourth and sixth innings.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity racked up seven hits on the day.  Jared Baehr and Jaquavius Davis each had multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Davis and Baehr all had two hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

McLennan Community College tallied 13 hits.  #13, #27, #5, and #48 all managed multiple hits for McLennan Community College.  #13 went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead McLennan Community College in hits. McLennan Community College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. #13 had the most chances in the field with 16.
