Baseball drops both games at McLennan

Game 1: Vernon College Chaps Varsity Struggles To Find Groove Against McLennan Community College

Nothing came easy for Vernon College Chaps Varsity on Saturday, as they fell 10-0 to McLennan Community College

A single by Hunter Leonard in the second inning was a positive for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

#11 led things off on the mound for McLennan Community College. The bulldog lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking zero.

Colten Panaranto was on the hill for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righthander went two innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.  Gareth Tobias threw two innings in relief.

Leonard and Rece Parker each collected one hit to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

McLennan Community College scattered ten hits in the game.  #23, #13, #3, and #30 all managed multiple hits for McLennan Community College. McLennan Community College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. #13 had the most chances in the field with seven.

Game 2: McLennan Community College Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Vernon College Chaps Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-2 loss to McLennan Community College on Saturday. McLennan Community College scored on a triple by #30 and a sacrifice fly by #13 in the first inning.

The Vernon College Chaps Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing McLennan Community College, giving up 12 runs.

McLennan Community College scored four runs in the fifth inning.  #3 and #4 all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

#6 led things off on the hill for McLennan Community College. The hurler surrendered two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out seven.

Sutten Tidwell was on the pitcher's mound for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The southpaw lasted three innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out one and walking zero. Nicholas Wilson and Foster Kreuzer entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Brendon Concannon led Vernon College Chaps Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

McLennan Community College collected ten hits on the day.  #13, #21, and #48 each had multiple hits for McLennan Community College.
