Rodeo finishes strong at Western Texas College rodeo

VERNON, TX. - The Vernon College rodeo team hit the road again this past week. The event in Snyder, TX. kicked off on Thursday and ran until saturday evening. 3 athletes placed well in their respective events.

Will Barrows finished 1st in long with 89 points and 3rd in average in bull riding to represent the men's side. This finish helped him get his self back in the hunt to qualify for the college national finals.

Caroline Blackard split 5th and 6th with 2.7 in the breakaway in long round. She then placed 2nd in short and in average. 

Shaya Biever, the Alberta, CAN native, split 7th-11th with 2.8 in breakaway in long and 3rd in short and in average.

The Chaps will be back in action this week starting Thursday at the Tarleton State Univ. rodeo in Stephenville, TX.
