Game 1: Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Overcomes North Platte CC In Face Of Early 4-Run Inning

North Platte CC scored four runs in the third inning, but Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity still won 13-5 on Saturday.  Bucio, McRae, and Binkly all drove in runs in the frame.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the second inning.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity big bats were led by Alexis HoangAshley SimmonsCallie YellinChloe Bryant, Hoang, and  Tatum Trester, who all drove in runs.

Jordan Garvin was the winning pitcher for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one.  Kaila Eastburnthrew one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Sutherland took the loss for North Platte CC. She went one and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity launched two home runs on the day. Hoang had a four bagger in the second inning. Yellin put one out in the second inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity collected 16 hits on the day.  Hoang, Trester, Bryant, Simmons, and Yellin each racked up multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Trester and Hoang all had three hits to lead Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Simmons made the most plays with three.

McRae went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead North Platte CC in hits.

 

Game 2: Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Takes Early Lead In Victory Over Garden City CC

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity jumped out to an early lead over Garden City CC and took home a 14-2 victory on Saturday.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity scored on a single by Kyla Snow and a triple by Alexis Hoang in the first inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity put up seven runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to home runs by Callie Yellin and Trinity Castillo, a triple by Adrianna Cooney, a groundout by Pal Egan, and a double by Stonie Carrillo.

Laynie Bastow was the winning pitcher for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings, striking out three.

Taylor Hill took the loss for Garden City CC. She surrendered 14 runs on 15 hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied four home runs on the day. Castillowent for the long ball in the second and fourth innings. Snow went deep in the second inning. Yellin had a four bagger in the fourth inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity collected 15 hits.  Carrillo, Castillo, Hoang, and Snow each collected multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. Carrillo led Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity with three hits in three at bats. Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Bastow had the most chances in the field with four.
