Game 1: Peyton Picou Drives In Five To Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Victory Over Seward CC

Peyton Picou was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Thursday, driving in five on three hits to lead Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity past Seward CC 12-1 on Thursday.  Picou drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the third, and a single in the fourth.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Adrianna Cooney singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity put up four runs in the third inning.  Picou, Bri Hernandez, and Cooney each had RBIs in the frame.

Laynie Bastow pitched Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity to victory. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out nine.

Pantoja took the loss for Seward CC. She allowed ten hits and 11 runs over three innings, striking out one.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied two home runs on the day. Cooneywent for the long ball in the third inning. Hernandez had a long ball in the third inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity racked up 12 hits.  Cooney, Picou, and Kyla Snow all collected multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. Picou and Cooney all had three hits to lead Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hernandez had the most chances in the field with nine.

Lechuga led Seward CC with three hits in three at bats.

 

Game 2: Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Grabs Lead In Fourth Inning To Defeat Seward CC

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in an 18-10 victory over Seward CC on Thursday. The game was tied at seven with Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity batting in the bottom of the fourth when Alexis Hoang singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsitycollected 15 hits and Seward CC eight in the high-scoring affair

In the bottom of the third inning, Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tied things up at seven.  Peyton Picou drove in one when she singled.

After Seward CC scored three runs in the top of the fifth, Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity answered with three of their own. Seward CC scored when Mojica grounded out, scoring one run and Scott singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity then answered when Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity scored two runs on a stolen base and Picou singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity took the lead for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Trinity Castillo drew a walk, scoring one run, Callie Yellindoubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Courtney Vidrine doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, and Stonie Carrillo singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Seward CC scored four runs in the third inning. Seward CC's big inning was driven by a single by Schwartz and a double by Oakley.

Kaila Eastburn pitched Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity to victory. She lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out eight and walking one.

Corrina took the loss for Seward CC. She went five and a third innings, allowing 18 runs on 15 hits and striking out two.

Jordan Garvin started the game for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She surrendered seven runs on five hits over two and a third innings, striking out five

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Pal Egan went deep in the second inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied 15 hits on the day.  Picou, Yellin, Egan, Carrillo, and Adrianna Cooney all managed multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Egan, Yellin, and Picou all had three hits to lead Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Yellin had the most chances in the field with 15.

Seward CC tallied eight hits.  Oakley, Lechuga, and Schwartz each had multiple hits for Seward CC.
