SOFTBALL OPENS CONFERENCE PLAY 4-0 AND 19-1 OVERALL

Game 1: Cooney's Walk-Off Gives Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Victory Over Cisco College

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off home run at the end of the game to topple Cisco College. The game was tied at 11 with Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity batting in the bottom of the seventh when Adrianna Cooney hit a solo homer.

Cooney led Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-5 at the plate.  Cooney drove in runs on a home run in the fifth and a home run in the seventh.

Cisco College fired up the offense in the first inning, when Welsh singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity notched four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Alexis Hoang and a home run by Cooney.

Cisco College scored three runs in the second inning.  Aleman and Epperson each drove in runs during the inning.

Kaila Eastburn earned the win for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She went five and a third innings, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking zero.

Stanush took the loss for Cisco College. She surrendered 12 runs on 13 hits over six innings, striking out one.

Laynie Bastow started the game for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out three and walking one

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied three home runs on the day. Cooney had a long ball in the fifth and seventh innings. Kyla Snow went deep in the third inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied 13 hits in the game.  Cooney, Stonie CarrilloPeyton Picou, and Hoang each had multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Cooney led Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsitywith three hits in five at bats.

Cisco College collected ten hits on the day.  Epperson, Welsh, and Aleman each managed multiple hits for Cisco College.  Epperson went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Cisco College in hits.

 

Game 2: Five RBI Day For Jaleigh Durst Brings Victory For Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Over Cisco College

Jaleigh Durst was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Saturday, driving in five on two hits to lead Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity past Cisco College 14-4 on Saturday.  Durst drove in runs on a home run in the first and a home run in the fourth.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the first inning.  Adrianna Cooney, Durst, and Trinity Castillo each had RBIs in the big inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Cooney homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Jade Guzman was the winning pitcher for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She went five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out five.

Ara Ortiz took the loss for Cisco College. She surrendered nine runs on eight hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity launched five home runs on the day. Castillo went for the long ball in the first inning. Cooney put one out in the first inning. Durstwent deep in the first and fourth innings. Pal Egan had a homer in the second inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied 13 hits in the game.  Durst, Peyton Picou, Egan, and Kaylyn Aguirre each managed multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Aguirre, Egan, Picou, and Durst all had two hits to lead Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.
