G1: Vernon College Chaparral Varsity Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Northeastern

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity defeated northeastern 9-5 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five with Vernon College Chaparral Varsitybatting in the bottom of the fifth when Kaila Eastburn tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity put up nine runs in the second on its way to an 11-2 victory over northeastern on Saturday.  Logan MenziesChloe BryantStonie CarrilloAdrianna CooneyKaila Eastburn, and  Adie Brake all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Eastburn took the win for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. The righty went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out eight.

#6 started the game for northeastern. The pitcher went four innings, allowing 11 runs on 11 hits and striking out three.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity had 11 hits in the game.  Kiana Gibson and Camile Nunezall had multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Nunez and Gibson each collected two hits to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.
