GM1: Vernon College Chaparral Varsity Defeats Trinidad State, 6-3

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity defeated Trinidad State 6-3 on Thursday.

In the first inning, Vernon College Chaparral Varsity got their offense started when Vernon College Chaparral Varsity scored one run on a stolen base.

In the bottom of the third inning, Vernon College Chaparral Varsity tied things up at two.  Adie Brake grounded out, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Chloe Bryant's sac fly scored one run for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.

Kaila Eastburn was the winning pitcher for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. The righthander went six and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out 11 and walking one.  Kassidy Outlaw threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Griego took the loss for Trinidad State. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity totaled ten hits in the game.  Adrianna Cooney, Eastburn, and Logan Menzies all managed multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Cooneywent 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity in hits.  Vernon College Chaparral Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Brake had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Gandert led Trinidad State with two hits in three at bats.

GM2: Two Pitchers Work Together As Vernon College Chaparral Varsity Shuts Out Trinidad State

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity defeated Trinidad State 13-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Laynie Bastow induced a fly out from Montoya to finish off the game.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. Vernon College Chaparral Varsity offense in the inning was led by Tatum TresterChloe BryantAdrianna CooneyCamile Nunez, and Lexi Mills, all driving in runs in the frame.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning.  Vernon College Chaparral Varsity scored two runs when Trester singled.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity notched seven runs in the third inning. The rally was led by singles by Bryant and Mills, doubles by Trester and Nunez, and a sac fly by Cooney.

One bright spot for Trinidad State was a single by Salazar in the first inning.

Laynie Brown took the win for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. Brown went three innings, allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out one.  Bastow threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Penn was in the circle for Trinidad State. Penn allowed 13 hits and 13 runs over four innings, striking out two.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity collected 13 hits on the day.  Trester, Kiana GibsonKaylyn Aguirre, and Bryant all managed multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Bryant, Aguirre, Gibson, and Trester each managed two hits to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Vernon College Chaparral Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Nunez had the most chances in the field with four.

Trinidad State scattered five hits in the game.  Bravo and Salazar each managed multiple hits for Trinidad State. Trinidad State didn't commit a single error in the field. Younger had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
