GM1: Two Vernon College Chaparral Varsity Pitchers Rally Together To Shutout Clarendon College Bulldogs

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity defeated Clarendon College Bulldogs 17-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Laynie Bastow induced a double-play from Danielle Pena to finish off the game.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity was boosted by Chloe Bryant who went 4-for-4 at the plate.  Bryant tripled in the second, homered in the third, homered in the fifth, and singled in the fifth.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity notched eight runs in the fifth inning.  Vernon College Chaparral Varsity offense in the inning was led by Bryant, Kaila EastburnKiana GibsonKelsye Loughman, and America Rubio, all driving in runs in the inning.

A single by Tiarra Delrosario in the third inning was a positive for Clarendon College Bulldogs.

Eastburn pitched Vernon College Chaparral Varsity to victory. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out seven and walking one.  Bastow threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Iliana Tejeda took the loss for Clarendon College Bulldogs. The pitcher allowed 18 hits and 17 runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity launched four home runs on the day. Rubio had a four bagger in the fifth inning. Bryant went yard in the third and fifth innings. Adrianna Cooneyhad a dinger in the second inning.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity racked up 18 hits on the day.  Stonie Carrillo, Bryant, Eastburn, Gibson, and Cooney all collected multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Bryant and Carrillo all had four hits to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.

GM2: Vernon College Chaparral Varsity Nabs Win Over Clarendon College Bulldogs Despite Early 4-Run Inning

Clarendon College Bulldogs scored four runs in the fourth inning, but Vernon College Chaparral Varsity still won 11-7 on Wednesday.  Tiarra Delrosario, Carrie Posada, and Danielle Pena all drove in runs in the frame.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity collected 16 hits and Clarendon College Bulldogs had eight in the high-scoring affair.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity got things started in the first inning when Kiana Gibsonsingled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Clarendon College Bulldogs evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. An error scored one run for Clarendon College Bulldogs.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Tatum Trester singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity tallied five runs in the fourth inning.  Kaila Eastburn had an RBI home run in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Laynie Brown pitched Vernon College Chaparral Varsity to victory. The righty surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two.  Laynie Bastow threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jasmine Valdez took the loss for Clarendon College Bulldogs. The lefty went seven innings, allowing 11 runs on 16 hits and striking out seven.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity tallied one home run on the day. Eastburn had a four bagger in the fourth inning.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity collected 16 hits.  Adie Brake, Gibson, Stonie Carrillo, Trester, and Kaylyn Aguirre all managed multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. Carrillo, Gibson, and Brake each collected three hits to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.

Clarendon College Bulldogs racked up eight hits in the game.  Pena, Jaylyn Hernandez, and Dominque Valadez all managed multiple hits for Clarendon College Bulldogs.
