Softball Sweeps another day of conference play now 8-2

GM1: Vernon College Chaparral Varsity Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Cisco College Wranglers

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Cisco College Wranglers on Wednesday. The game was tied at five with Vernon College Chaparral Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kaylyn Aguirre tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Cisco College Wranglers scored five runs in the third inning, but Vernon College Chaparral Varsity still managed to pull out the victory.  Taylor Epperson, Maddie Murley,  Bailey Buck, Trinity Dudley, and Alyssa Kelley all drove in runs in the frame.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning.  Vernon College Chaparral Varsity scored two runs when Kaila Eastburn homered.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Vernon College Chaparral Varsity tied things up at five when Stonie Carrillo singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Eastburn pitched Vernon College Chaparral Varsity to victory. The righthander went seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out seven.

Caitlyn Rangel started the game for Cisco College Wranglers. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out four.  Michelle Soules and Nikki Rameriez entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity socked one home run on the day. Eastburn had a homer in the first inning.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity tallied nine hits.  America Rubio, Aguirre, and Chloe Bryanteach had multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Bryant, Aguirre, and Rubio each managed two hits to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.

Cisco College Wranglers totaled eight hits in the game.  Buck and Murley all managed multiple hits for Cisco College Wranglers.

 

GM2: Four RBI Day For America Rubio Seals The Deal In Vernon College Chaparral Varsity's Victory Over Cisco College Wranglers

Four runs batted in from America Rubio helped lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity past Cisco College Wranglers 12-4 on Wednesday.  Rubio drove in runs on a single in the second and a triple in the third.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity got things moving in the first inning.  Vernon College Chaparral Varsity scored one run on a stolen base.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity notched five runs in the third inning. The rally was led by a triple by Rubio, a single by Kaila Eastburn, and a sacrifice fly by Logan Menzies.

Laynie Brown earned the win for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. The pitcher went six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out three.

Bailey Buck started the game for Cisco College Wranglers. Buck surrendered nine runs on nine hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.  Heather Wineman and Summer Hasfurter entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one inning respectively.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity racked up 16 hits.  Rubio, Camile NunezCallie Yellin, Eastburn, Menzies, and Chloe Bryant all managed multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Yellin, Nunez, and Rubio each managed three hits to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.

Cisco College Wranglers had seven hits in the game.  Buck and Sara Papizan each racked up multiple hits for Cisco College Wranglers.
