GM1: Vernon College Chaparral Takes 7-3 Victory Over Cisco College Wranglers

Vernon College Chaparral defeated Cisco College Wranglers 7-3 on Saturday.

Vernon College got things moving in the first inning, when America Rubiohomered on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Vernon College Chaparral notched three runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Vernon College Chaparral Varsity was led by Kaila Eastburn and Kaylyn Aguirre, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Eastburn was credited with the victory for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out nine and walking one.

Nikki Rameriez took the loss for Cisco College Wranglers. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing 16 hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking one.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Rubio had a homer in the first inning.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity racked up 16 hits in the game.  Eastburn, Rubio, Adie Brake, Aguirre, and Stonie Carrillo each racked up multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Rubio and Eastburn each collected three hits to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.

Cisco College Wranglers collected eight hits on the day.  Sara Papizan and Lauren Alemaneach had multiple hits for Cisco College Wranglers.  Papizan went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Cisco College Wranglers in hits. Cisco College Wranglers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Maddie Murley made the most plays with seven.

 

GM2: Vernon College Chaparral Varsity Claims Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Cisco College Wranglers

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 16-9 victory over Cisco College Wranglers on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Vernon College Chaparral Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Camile Nunez doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity was boosted by Nunez who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Nunez doubled in the third, homered in the fifth, doubled in the sixth, and homered in the seventh.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity got things moving in the first inning.  Nunez drew a walk, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity knotted the game up at five in the top of the fifth inning, when Nunez hit a solo homer.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity scored eight runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Vernon College Chaparral Varsity was led by Kim HierholzerKaila Eastburn, Nunez, and Tatum Trester, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Cisco College Wranglers scored four runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Cisco College Wranglers came thanks to singles by Alyssa Kelley, Ashley Vinton, and Maddie Murley.

Laynie Brown was the winning pitcher for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. The righty lasted five innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs while striking out two and walking one.

Caitlyn Rangel started the game for Cisco College Wranglers. The righty went five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on 13 hits and striking out six.  Summer Hasfurter, Heather Wineman, and Michelle Soules each contributed in relief for Cisco College Wranglers.

Laynie Bastow started the game for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity. Bastow allowed six hits and three runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity tallied four home runs on the day. Hierholzer had a long ball in the seventh inning. Logan Menzies had a dinger in the second inning. Nunez went yard in the fifth and seventh innings.

Vernon College Chaparral Varsity had 19 hits in the game.  Nunez, Kaylyn Aguirre, Eastburn, America Rubio, Trester, and Stonie Carrillo each had multiple hits for Vernon College Chaparral Varsity.  Nunez went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Vernon College Chaparral Varsityin hits.  Vernon College Chaparral Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Adie Brakehad five chances in the field, the most on the team.

Cisco College Wranglers racked up 17 hits.  Murley, Sara Papizan, and Taylor Epperson all collected multiple hits for Cisco College Wranglers.  Murley led Cisco College Wranglers with four hits in five at bats. Cisco College Wranglers was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Lauren Aleman had the most chances in the field with eight.
