Softball sweeps the series with Ranger College

GM1: Vernon College Chaparral Takes The Win Over Ranger College

Vernon College Chaparral was victorious over Ranger College, 6-1

Vernon College Chaparral got on the board in the first inning.  Vernon College Chaparralscored two runs when Kaila Eastburn doubled.

Laynie Bastow got the win for Vernon College Chaparral. The righthander allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out six.

Monique Montes took the loss for Ranger College. Montes went six innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out five.

Chloe BryantAdrianna CooneyCallie Yellin, and Eastburn all had one hit to lead Vernon College Chaparral.  Vernon College Chaparral was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Tatum Trester had the most chances in the field with seven.

Gaby Gomez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ranger College in hits.

 

GM2: Vernon College Chaparral Victorious Over Ranger College In Low-Scoring Affair

Both teams were strong in the circle Saturday, but Vernon College Chaparral defeated Ranger College 2-1. Kaila Eastburn allowed just four hits to Ranger College.

Ranger College got on the board in the first inning.  Everly Carey grounded out, scoring one run.

Vernon College Chaparral pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Adie Brake doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Ashton Zielenskisingled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Eastburn earned the victory on the rubber for Vernon College Chaparral. The righthander went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out five and walking zero.

Noeli Quinones took the loss for Ranger College. Quinones lasted six innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out three.

Zielenski led Vernon College Chaparral with two hits in three at bats.
