VERNON, TX - Chaps opened their season this pasted weekend in Odessa, TX versus 3 ranked opponents and College of Southern Idaho. They battled the whole weekend competing in each match with tough competition.
 
Weekend results from the NMMI tournament.
Vs. CSI 19-25, 9-25, 20-25
Vs. #6 ranked Snow 21-25, 16-25, 13-25, they just beat the #1 today
Vs. #19 ranked West Plains 18-25, 23-25, 21-25
Vs. #16 NMMI 10-25, 14-25, 17-25
 
Vernon College came in ranked 91 and that won't change after 4 losses to topped ranked teams, but they held their own and united as a team. None of us enjoy losing, but this team showed grit and trust in the process.
 
It's not how you start the season that matters to this team!
