GM1: Temple College Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

Vernon College Chaps Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-1 loss to Temple College on Saturday. Temple College scored on a single by #31 in the first inning, a error in the first inning, a double by #9 in the second inning, and a walk by #8in the second inning.

The Vernon College Chaps Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Temple College, giving up 11 runs.

Temple College got things moving in the first inning. Temple College scored one run when #31 singled.

Temple College scored three runs in the fourth inning. Temple College scored its runs on a single by #10.

#2 got the start for Temple College. The fireballer surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, striking out 12.

Colten Panaranto toed the rubber for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The righty went four innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and striking out four.  Foster KreuzerNicholas Wilson, and Trevor Gattin each contributed in relief for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity hit one home run on the day. Luke Piper had a dinger in the second inning.

Piper led Vernon College Chaps Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

Temple College totaled 12 hits in the game.  #18, #16, and #10 all had multiple hits for Temple College.

GM2: Despite Strong Fight, Vernon College Chaps Varsity Can't Top Temple College

Vernon College Chaps Varsity fought back after falling down by four runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in an 8-7 defeat to Temple College on Saturday.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity put up four runs in the failed comeback. Cade HamiltonJhonmy Martinez, and  Luke Piper came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity was right in it until Temple College in the tenth inning.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity captured the lead in the first inning.  Piper's sac fly scored one run for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Vernon College Chaps Varsity tied things up at seven when Piper hit a solo homer.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity tallied three runs in the eighth inning.  Vernon College Chaps Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Hamilton and Martinez, all driving in runs in the inning.

Temple College scored three runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Temple College came thanks to a walk by #9, a single by #20, and a sacrifice fly by #31.

#11 toed the rubber for Temple College. The fireballer lasted four innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out one.

Sutten Tidwell was on the mound for Vernon College Chaps Varsity. The lefty went four innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and striking out five.  Maverick Folmar and Will Hahnfeld entered the game as relief, throwing four and a third innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity tallied four home runs on the day. Brendon Concannon went yard in the first and third innings. Hamilton had a homer in the eighth inning. Piper had a four bagger in the ninth inning.

Vernon College Chaps Varsity tallied nine hits on the day.  Concannon and Martinez each collected multiple hits for Vernon College Chaps Varsity.  Martinez and Concannon each collected three hits to lead Vernon College Chaps Varsity.

Temple College scattered 11 hits in the game.  #20, #31, #12, #4, and #16 each had multiple hits for Temple College. Temple College stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. #9 led the way with four.
